Start with the pack you need to produce

Your product dimensions, film, seal requirement and sustained output determine the right machine—not a generic catalogue speed.

Lancing reviews product dimensions, orientation, spacing, film construction, print registration, sealing temperature, required output and the equipment on either side of the wrapper. That information is used to define the infeed, sealing jaw, film path, controls and discharge arrangement.

  • Product and pack trials where required
  • Printed-film registration and coding options
  • Conveyor, feeder and line-control integration
  • Installation, commissioning and operator familiarisation planning

Project method

From product sample to production line

Early definition of product handling and film behaviour reduces risk at installation.

Define the product envelope

Provide minimum and maximum dimensions, weight, surface condition, orientation and permitted handling.

Choose the pack format and film

Confirm pack length, seal style, printed or clear film, barrier needs and any coding or labelling requirement.

Set realistic output

Separate peak machine speed from the sustained line rate available from upstream production.

Engineer the interfaces

Define product feeding, accumulation, reject logic, guarding, electrical signals and downstream transport.

Questions answered

Flow-wrapper FAQs

Key points to establish before requesting a formal quotation.

What is a horizontal flow-wrapping machine?

A horizontal flow wrapper feeds products along a conveyor, forms a continuous reel of film around them, creates a longitudinal seal and closes each pack with transverse end seals. It is commonly used for regular products that can be presented in a controlled orientation.

Which products can be flow wrapped?

Typical applications include biscuits, snack bars, confectionery, bakery products, soap, sponges, filters, small components, kits and wet-wipe packs. Product dimensions, stability, film choice and required seal integrity determine the final machine specification.

How fast can a flow wrapper run?

The LUZB350X reference specification is 30–120 bags per minute. The LU-WP550A wet-wipes line is listed at 30–80 packs per minute. Achievable production speed depends on the product, film, pack length, infeed arrangement and upstream process.

Can a flow wrapper be connected to existing machinery?

Yes. Lancing can assess product transfer, infeed timing, guarding, coding, inspection, discharge and communications so the wrapper can operate as part of a wider packaging line.
